World Bank has announced its will to hold back new loans to  Uganda over its controversial Anti Homosexuality Law that was assented to by Uganda's President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni on 29th May 2023.

The world Bank on Tuesday, August, 2023, said that it would hold back project financing awaiting an assessment of considerations it introduced to safeguard the outnumbered sexual and gender discriminated people in its projects.

"Uganda's Anti-Homosexuality Law fundamentally contradicts the world Bank Group's values," the World Bank statement read.

President Museveni in response to the world Bank's statement on Wednesday 8th, August, 2023 accused the World Bank of using money to try to coerce the Government of Uganda over its controversial Anti-Homosexuality Law. President Museveni further wrote on his Twitter handle that "Uganda will develop with or without loans." We do not need pressure from anybody to know how to solve problems in our society.
